Distance Education & 2+2 Programs
Distance Education
The distance education undergraduate programs offered by the College of Business are degree completion programs. That is, they are designed to provide the upper-division courses required for the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA). Call our college’s Advising Center toll free number 800.646.1901 or 575.646.3836 if you have questions about transferring credits from out-of-state institutions.
We also have MBA programs provided through distance education.
2+2 Program
The 2+2 program is named to indicate that you can complete the first two years of your college education at a 2-year institution such as a community college and the last two years at a 4-year institution. If you have substantially completed your lower-division classes for the 2+2 program at another institution, you will need to send an official transcript(s) to the NMSU Admissions Office (575.646.3121):
NMSU Admissions Office PO Box 30001, MSC 3A Las Cruces, NM 88003-8001Requirements
Students are expected to have substantially completed their lower-division requirements, including general education requirements. These lower-division requirements may be completed at a junior or community college.
For example, take your first 2 years of courses at either
- a community college in New Mexico, or
- at New Mexico State University (NMSU) or another 4-year institution, or
- via the Internet from NMSU campuses.
Then take your last 2 years of courses on the Internet to complete your degree
- through NMSU’s Distance Education program.
NMSU’s Distance Education office in the College of Extended Learning has comprehensive information about distance education; self-evaluation tests about distance education and technical skills to see if distance ed is the right choice for you; as well as registration, scheduling and tuition and financial aid information.
