The 2+2 program is named to indicate that you can complete the first two years of your college education at a 2-year institution such as a community college and the last two years at a 4-year institution. If you have substantially completed your lower-division classes for the 2+2 program at another institution, you will need to send an official transcript(s) to the NMSU Admissions Office (575.646.3121 or 800.662.6678):NMSU Student Affairs and Enrollment Management: Undergraduate Admissions PO Box 30001, MSC 3A Las Cruces, NM 88003-8001
Students are expected to have substantially completed their lower-division requirements, including general education requirements. These lower-division requirements may be completed at a junior or community college.

- a community college in New Mexico, or
- at New Mexico State University (NMSU) or another 4-year institution, or
- via the Internet from NMSU campuses.
Then take your last 2 years of courses on the Internet to complete your degree
- through NMSU’s Distance Education program.
NMSU’s Distance Education office in the College of Extended Learning has comprehensive information about distance education; self-evaluation tests about distance education and technical skills to see if distance ed is the right choice for you; as well as registration, scheduling and tuition and financial aid information.
