Bachelor of Business Administration: Finance

BBA: Finance

Financial managers and advisors play a key role in the financial success or failure of businesses, government agencies and individuals. The critical, analytical and managerial skills developed through the study of finance are essential to any career in the business world.

Successful finance majors enjoy analytical thinking (puzzles and problem solving) and quantitative analysis (mathematics and statistics). Students of finance should be comfortable with computers and working in an office environment. See the Degree Plan/Sample Schedule.

Because of the strong analytical and critical thinking skills developed in the study of finance, the finance major is well equipped for graduate study, including law school.

Students from every background, and virtually every personality type, will benefit from studying finance and can find careers for which they are well suited.

Our students are equipped with the analytical tools, knowledge, and critical thinking skills necessary for successful professional careers in fields such as corporate finance, financial planning, investments, banking, insurance (also see info on actuarial science), and real estate. The finance major offers you the opportunity to focus your program in any these areas.

If you would like to consider focusing in any of these areas, please see your advisor who will help you select appropriate finance electives.
