MBA: Master of Business Administration
Why NMSU’s MBA?
New Mexico State’s MBA offers a unique combination of flexibility, quality, and rigor. The NMSU-MBA is accredited by AACSB-International, placing it among the top 15% of business programs in the world. At the same time, NMSU respects the unique needs of working professionals who seek to advance their education.
The NMSU-MBA is taught on a flexible schedule combining evening, online, and blended delivery methods with some off-site course delivery at locations outside Las Cruces. Every NMSU-MBA student will have substantial and meaningful face-to-face interaction with NMSU faculty. Convenience, quality, and face-to-face interaction—all are important components of the NMSU-MBA.

NMSU’s MBA program offers a quality education
Convenience in Delivery
The 36-hour degree requirements are typically completed in 2 to 3 years by working professionals attending the program on a part-time basis (6-9 hours per term). Classes include a mix of face-to-face and online delivery formats, with face-to-face class meetings typically held in the evenings and/or on weekends.
Students may begin the program on the Las Cruces campus in any term (fall, spring or summer) and will typically conclude with the capstone course offered in fall or spring semesters. Based on program demand, we also offer the MBA program to cohorts of students at remote sites such as Sandia National Labs and Santa Fe. Please visit the respective links for more detailed information about start dates and scheduling information at these remote site locations.
Quality Instruction
Our AACSB accreditation gives you an edge. It’s your assurance that we deliver a quality education and that you will receive top value for your education dollars.

Evening courses make our program accessible to both full-time and part-time students.
The AACSB accreditation process requires rigorous review of the currency and excellence of business faculty expertise in their areas of instruction. NMSU-MBA faculty members’ instruction is made more relevant by their continued consultation with business and governmental organizations and the publication of their scholarly research in academic and mainstream media outlets.
Challenging Curriculum
The MBA is a professional program designed to provide students with a solid background in business practices and the problem-solving and people skills needed to be successful leaders in the global business environment.
The curriculum prepares students for administrative and managerial positions in a wide variety of organizations, both private and governmental. Because currency demands frequent updates in our standards and curriculum, you are encouraged to explore more detailed information on our Admission Requirements and Degree Requirements pages, or contact us at mbaprog@nmsu.edu to request more information.
