Ernst & Young Foundation American Indian Scholarship

Overview

Two scholarships used to award $5,000 to two American Indian students pursuing masters degrees in Business Administration. Preference will be given to candidates with a:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Business Computer Systems, Computer Science, or Industrial Engineering
  • Or those with a strong technical/analytical background and future business interests in Consulting Services and Auditing Practice.

Criteria

Applicants should demonstrate high academic achievement, graduating with a 3.0 GPA or better and/or be within the top 10 to 15% of their graduating class and also have showed leadership potential in the community and/or on campus.

Those who apply must provide verification of membership with a federally recognized American Indian tribe. In the event there are no eligible graduate students, consideration will be given to seniors interested in pursuing Masters of Business Administration at NMSU who have satisfied this criteria.

Application Procedures

Submit all of the following:

  1. A copy of your unofficial transcript.
  2. A 3-page essay describing how this scholarship will assist you in meeting your career goals and objectives.
  3. Three letters of recommendation:
    • Two from previous undergraduate instructors and
    • One from a tribal official from your reservation who knows you well enough to provide ample information regarding your tribal affiliation.
