PGA Golf Management Requirements

In order to graduate with a Marketing degree with the PGA Golf Management concentration, students must also satisfy all of the following requirements:

  • Complete the 128-credit academic degree.
  • Complete a minimum of 16 months of co-op.
  • Pass the PGA’s Playing Ability Test (PAT). Students are required to attempt the PGA’s PAT every semester, until successfully completed.
  • Complete the PGA’s PGM Educational Program (Levels 1-3).

Year 1

Fall

  • Pick up Level 1 Kit.
  • Two tournaments and monthly meetings.
  • Register for 16 hours (includes MKTG 180).

Spring

  • Work on Level 1 Kit.
  • Two tournaments and monthly meetings.
  • Register for 16 hours (includes MKTG 181).

Summer

  • Work on Level 1 Kit.
  • Co-op 3 months.

Year 2

Fall

  • Work on Level 1 Kit.
  • Two tournaments and monthly meetings.
  • Register for 15 hours (includes MKTG 280).
  • December 15:
    • Turn in completed Level 1 Kit.
    • Register for Checkpoint.

Spring

  • Study for Level 1 Checkpoint.
  • Two tournaments and monthly meetings.
  • Register for 18 hours (includes MKTG 281).

Summer

  • Work on Level 2 Kit.
  • Co-op 3 months.

Year 3

Fall

  • Work on Level 2 Kit.
  • Two tournaments and monthly meetings.
  • Register for 15 hours (includes MKTG 380).
  • December 15:
    • Turn in completed Level 2 Kit.
    • Register for Checkpoint.

Spring

  • Study for Level 2 Checkpoint.
  • Two tournaments and monthly meetings.
  • Register for 15 hours (includes MKTG 381).

Summer

  • Work on Level 3 Kit.
  • Co-op 3 months.

Year 4

Fall

  • Work on Level 3 Kit.
  • Two tournaments and monthly meetings.
  • Register for 15 hours (includes MKTG 480).
  • December 15:
    • Turn in completed Level 3 Kit.
    • Register for Checkpoint.

Spring

  • Study for Level 3 Checkpoint.
  • Two tournaments and monthly meetings.
  • Register for 15 hours (includes MKTG 381).
  • March 19-22:
    • Level 3 Checkpoint.
    • PGA GM completed.

Summer

  • Co-op 3 months.

Year 5

Fall

  • Co-op 4 months.
  • Register for MKTG 481.
  • December 15: Apply for PGA Membership.
  • Graduate!
