Dr. Carlo Mora (IS) reports that his coauthored paper, "Web-Based Electronic Commerce Usage: A Contingency Model of Antecedents and Outcomes," has been accepted for presentation and inclusions in the proceedings of The Southwestern Decision Sciences Institute meeting in Oklahoma City, March 2006.

Dr. Minjoon Jun (Management) had a paper, entitled "The Impact of Inter-organizational Internet Communication on Purchasing Performance: A study of Chinese Manufacturing Firms," accepted for publication in the Journal of Supply Chain Management, which is one of the prestigious journals in the field of Supply Chain Management. (December 2005)

Dr. Robin Peterson (Marketing) published an article with Dr. Stratemeyer entitled, "Older Persons in New Car Commercials: A neglected Audience," in the Journal of Business Disciplines.Dr. Peterson had an article accepted for publication in the Business and Professional Ethics Journal.Dr. Peterson also reviewed manuscripts for The Journal of Retailing and Industrial Marketing Management. Dr. Minjoon Jun (Management) with co-authors Dr.'s Cai and Shin had a paper titled, "TQM Practice in Maquiladora: Antecedents of Employee Satisfaction and Loyalty," accepted for publication in the Journal of Operations Management, which is one of the top journals in the field of Production and Operations Management. (December 2005)

Dr. Kerry Alt (IS) reports that his paper, "Do Ethical Views Differ in Different Situations? Using Pathfinder Associative Networks to Compare Views," with L. Leonard (of Tulsa), Paul Cronan (University of Arkansas), and Dr. Jennifer Kreie (IS) has been accepted for publication in a forthcoming issue of the Information Systems Education Journal. (December 2005)

Dr. Judy Weisinger (Management) has had two paper proposals accepted for the annual Association for Research on Nonprofit Organizations and Voluntary Action (ARNOVA) conference in November 2005: "Understanding the Meaning of Diversity in a Nonprofit Organization," and "Diversity or Pluralism: Pitfalls and Promising Prospects for Voluntary Associations." She will also serve as panel chair for "Fostering Social Capital and Collective Action in Minority Groups: Difficult Realities and Promising Prospects." 

Drs. Janice Black (Strategy/Entrepreneurship), Richard Oliver (Information Systems), Jon Howell (OB/Leadership) and Phil King (Engineering) will have a paper, "A Dynamic System Simulation of Leader and Group Effects on Context for Learning," published in the journal, Leadership Quarterly. (November 2005)

Dr. Hyman (Marketing) and Dr. Jeremy Sierra, a recent graduate of the Marketing's Department's Ph.D. program, won Best Paper award at the Society of Marketing Advances conference. Their paper, entitled "In Search of Value: A Model of Wagering Intentions," is based on Dr. Sierra's dissertation. (November 2005)

Dr. Kerry Alt (IS) reports that his paper, "The Effective Delivery of a Streaming Video Course Lecture," with Dr. Sherry Mills (Accounting), Dr. Jennifer Kreie (IS) and Dr. Richard Oliver (IS), has been accepted for publication in a forthcoming issue of Accounting Education: An International Journal.(November 2005)

Dr. Jennifer Kreie (IS) reports that her manuscript, "Using Team-Learning to Improve Student Retention," with Dr. Robert Steiner (EStat), and Dr. Wayne Headrick (IS), University of Texas-Pan American, has been accepted for publication in a forthcoming issue of College Teaching. (Novmeber 2005)

Dr. Sam Gray (Management) had a paper titled "Regulatory, Cognitive and Normative Factors Affecting Small Business Development in Northern Mexico" accepted for publication in the International Journal of Entrepreneurship. (October 2005)

Dr. Peter Dorfman (Management) published an article in Advances in International Management titled "Managing a Multinational Team: Lessons from Project GLOBE". (October 2005)

Dr. Bill Foster (Accounting) reports that his paper, coauthored with Don Vickrey, Arizona State University, Carl Bettis and Donn Vickrey, both from Gradient Analytics, "Insider Trading disclosure, Information Asymmetry, and Differential Earnings Relevance as Indicated by Trading Volume," has been accepted for publication in a forthcoming issue of Journal of Accounting and Finance Research. Dr. Tom McGuckin (Economics) had his article, "The Economic Consequences of an International Water Market in the Paso Del Norte Region That Includes Ciudad Juarez," accepted in the Journal of Borderlands Studies Vol 20, No 1. (October 2005)

Dr. Janice Black (Management) and co-author Dr. Farias had their article, "Entrepreneurial Volition to Take Action and the United States Markets of the 1990's," published in the Review on Competence-Based Management. (October 2005)

Dr. Phil Benson (Management) and co-author Dr. Terry Adler (Management) had an article, "The Implementation of Strategy and Organizational Reward Systems: An Overlooked Area in the Strategic Management of Human Resources," published in Organizational Analysis. (October 2005)

Dr. David Boje (Management) had an article, "Time, Place and Mind of Intellectual Capital: Commentary on Kenneth Mlbjerg Jorgensen's Conceptualizing Intellectual Capital as Language Game and Power," accepted for publication in the Journal of Capital.

Dr. David Boje (Management) and co-authors Dr.'s Enríquez, González, and Macías had a manuscript titled "Architectonics of McDonald's Cohabitation with Wal-Mart: An Exploratory study of Ethnocentricity" accepted for publication in Critical Perspectives on International Business. (October 2005)

Dr. Judy Weisinger and Dr. Janice Black (Management) shared their paper, "Strategic Competence & Social Capital," with the NMSU community at a Research Fair last week in Corbett Center sponsored by the University Research Center. Dr. Black also teamed up with Dr. Richard Oliver to share their research stream, "CMASS: Showing the Development of an Interdisciplinary Research Stream." (October 2005)

Dr. Robin Peterson (Marketing) published a paper, "An Examination of the Accuracy of Small Manufacturer Chief Executive Officers in Assessing the Legality of Selected Actions," in the Journal of Small Business Strategy. (October 2005)

Dr. Kerry Alt and Dr. Jennifer Kreie (IS) received notice that their paper, "Do Ethical Views Differ in different Situations?--Using Pathfinder Associative Networks to Compare View," has been accepted for presentation at the forthcoming Information Systems Educators' Conference (ISECON). Dr. Terry Adler (Management) had an article, "The Swift Trust Partnership: A Project Management Exercise Investigating the Effects of Trust and Distrust in Outsourcing Relationships," accepted for publication in the upcoming 2005 edition of the Journal of Management Education. (September 2005)

Dr. Kelly Tian (Marketing) had a manuscript accepted for publication in Research in Consumer Behavior, an annual publication by JAI Press. The title of the paper is "Consumption and the Meaning of Life." (September 2005)

Dr. Leigh Murray (EStat), along with co-authors J. Ray, J. Schroeder and R. Creamer, had her paper, "Emergence Date Affects Phelology of London Rocket (Sisymbrium irio) in Southern New Mexico," accepted for publication in the September issue of Weed Science. (September 2005)

Dr. Leigh Murray (EStat), along with co-authors A. Serna-Perez, C. Monger, T. Jones and V. Gutschick, had her paper, "Emissions From Exhumed Petrocalcic Horizons (calcrete)," accepted for publication in the September issue of the Soil Science Society of America Journal. (September 2005)

Dr. Leigh Murray (EStat), along with co-authors N. Puppala, J. Fowler, T. Jones, and V. Gutschick, had her article, " Evapotranspiration,Yield and Water-Use Efficiency of Lesquerella Fendleri at Different Growth States," published in Industrial Crops and Products. (September 2005)

Dr. David Boje(Management) (along with co-author Joh) had a paper accepted titled "Can Chaebols become Postmodern?" in the Problems and Perspectives in Management Journal. (September 2005)

Dr. Ed Scribner (Accounting), reports that an article he coauthored with Carl Enomoto (Economics), Eric Pratt and Ken Chinen (both, formerly from NMSU), "Marketing Products on the Internet: Consumer Concerns, Issues, and Buying Behavior," has been accepted for publication in a forthcoming issue of the Journal of Business and Society. Dr. Grace Ann Rosile's (Management) submission, "Cheating: Making It a Teachable Moment," has been accepted for publication in the Journal of Management Education. (September 2005)

Dr. Ken Martin's (Finance) article, "When Will the Fed Stop Raising Rates?" was published in the August 2005 issue of the New Mexico Business Outlook.

Dr. Carlo Mora (IS), coauthored a paper, "A contingency model for business to business electronic commerce usage: Antecedents and outcomes," which was presented at the 2005 CollEcTeR Conference, Sydney, Australia. The paper is also included in the conference proceedings. (July 2005)

An article titled "Bank Mergers and Insider Nontrading" by Dr. Greg Roth (Finance), together with coauthors Tom Madison and Andy Saporoschenk,) was published in the June issue of the New Mexico Business Outlook. (June 2005)

Dr. Kelly Tian's (Marketing) book, co-authored with Bill Keep, "Customer Fraud and Business Responses," was just released with the entire text printed in Chinese characters.  It is been distributed in China and perhaps other markets in Asia . (April 2005)

An article by Dr. Hyman (Marketing) co-authored with Drs. Shanahan and Hermans, two graduates of our doctoral program, appeared in March 2005 issue of NM Business Outlook. The article is entitled "Violent Commercials in Television Programs for Children."

Dr. Chris Erickson (Economics) has had a paper accepted for publication along with coauthors Soumen Ghosh ( a former colleague here), and David Molina (who spent one year here visiting). The paper title is "Using Emission Permit Trading to Coordinate Environmental Policy: The US-Mexico  Border."  (April 2005)

Dr. Sherry Mills (Accounting) had her paper, "Course-Embedded Assessments for Evaluating Cross-Functional Integration and Improving the Teaching-Learning Process" (with Janice Ammons, Quinnipiac College) published in an American Accounting Association journal, Issues in Accounting Education,Vol. 20, No. 1 (February 2005).

Dr. Michelle Jasso (Marketing) had a manuscript, "The Effects of Involvement on Foreign Product Evaluations," accepted for presentation at the 3 rd International Conference on Business, Economics and Marketing in Athens, Greece for June 2005.

Dr. Janice Black (Management), Dr. Richard Oliver (IS) and Michael Glissmeyer (MGT-PHD Student) had their paper, "The Distribution of Leadership Skills across an Industry: A Case Study of the Hydrology Industry," accepted for presentation at the Southwest Academy of Management conference in March of 2005.

Dr. Judith Weisinger's (Management) co-authored article (with P. F. Salipante), A Grounded Theory for Building Ethnically Bridging Social Capital in Voluntary Organizations, is to be published in the Nonprofit and Voluntary Sector Quarterly, forthcoming in March 2005.

Dr. Bill Smith (Accounting) had his paper, "Storytelling Networks: Human Capital as an Interaction of Trait and Situation," coauthored with Mark Hillon and Gabriel Isaacs (Doctoral Students in Management) published in the current volume of The International Journal of Knowledge, Culture and Change Management(February 2005) .
