About Sean Rogers

Research interests: Human resource management, Employment relations (particularly in aviation and higher ed), Volunteers, Diversity, Hazing in the workplace

Professor Rogers joined the Department of Management in August 2013.

Before coming to NMSU, Dr. Rogers was on the faculty of the Anderson School of Management at University of New Mexico, and prior to that worked as a Research Fellow at the U.S. Army Research Institute for the Behavioral and Social Sciences.

Sean Rogers has over 15 years of combined corporate and military work experience. In the private sector, Dr. Rogers worked in industrial engineering, financial analysis, network planning, and strategic pricing at several major airlines. He is also a 9-year Army Reserve veteran, and served a year-long combat tour in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003.

Professor Rogers’s research interests include contingent work and workers (especially volunteers), workplace diversity, and labor and employment relations. A highly rated instructor, his teaching experience and interests include human resource management, organizational behavior, diversity, and employment relations.

Dr. Rogers earned his Ph.D. in industrial relations and human resources from the School of Management and Labor Relations at Rutgers University. His other degrees include a B.S. in aviation business and MBA from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and a master’s in human resource development from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He also holds the Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification from the Society for Human Resource Management.
