We offer you many business degree choices along with double majors and minors that can enhance your professional marketability.

Study and practice the science of managerial leadership; the intricacies of computerized information systems; the best practices of entrepreneurship; and the finesse of supply chain management. Discover the art and science of managing money in finance, banking, and insurance. Find the creative connection between marketing and customers and explore the wide-ranging field of economics. Learn the language of accounting and the international aspects of business. You might also be interested in the Study Abroad program.

There’s a business side to every occupation—arts and entertainment, health care, communications, education, aerospace, defense, sports, profit or non-profit, advertising, government, science…. They need people with degrees in accounting, economics, finance, information systems, international business, management, and marketing.

Check out our Business Degree Curriculum. There are five components of the course work required for a degree from the College of Business. The major courses, upper division business courses, and Viewing a Wider World (VWW) courses are listed on each major’s degree plan. Learn about our Undergraduate and Graduate programs, get Transfer Student info, and find out about NMSU’s High School Dual Credit and Veteran’s programs, as well as the CAMP (College Assistance Migrant Program) and ENLACE/EXITO program.

New Mexico State University offers a number of opportunities for residents of other states; the El Paso area; active duty military; and Navajo and American Indian nations, tribes and pueblo members to pay in-state (or reduced rate) tuition. “Who knew 7 ounces of knit cotton could feed 50 starving people in Zimbabwe?” Social entrepreneurs Jose Rodriguez (finance and economics, Dec ’08) and Aron Jones (marketing and leadership management, May ’09) launched ROJO Apparel, offering a variety of T-shirts and accessories for sale in their online shop. With each sale, 50 nutritionally based meals are distributed to impoverished communities in Zimbabwe.

Karli Sue McMurrayKarli Sue McMurray

Karli Sue McMurray, founder and president of One Love Worldwide, graduated in 2006 with a BA in Business Management and a supplementary major in Law and Society. One Love Worldwide was established to “provide aid and resources to underprivileged persons in an effort to rehabilitate their environment and create self sustainability.” Find out more about Karli Sue and One Love Worldwide.

Julie Dill

Julie started as an entry level accountant fresh out of NMSU, eventually becoming the president of Union Gas, a natural gas company based in Ontario, Canada with 1.3 million customers. She’s been named one of the top 50 Women in Energy by Commodities Now magazine and was awarded the 2010 Energy Leader of the Year by the Ontario Energy Association.

Kevin Johnson

Kevin joined Juniper Networks in September of 2008 in the roles of CEO and member of the Board. Prior to Juniper, Johnson spent 16 years at Microsoft, ultimately leading the Platforms & Services Division, an organization of over 14,000 employees with responsibility for product development, marketing and strategy for the Windows and Online Services businesses.

Vice President of Disney Channels Worldwide Brand Research, Disney ABC Cable Networks Group, part of The Walt Disney Company, Kelly is responsible for strategic, brand and marketing research for the company’s wholly-owned basic cable networks: Disney Channel, Disney XD, ABC Family and SOAPnet as well as Radio Disney. She joined The Walt Disney Company in May 2000 as Director of Research for The Walt Disney Internet Group. In 2002 Kelly transferred to Disney ABC Cable Networks Group, heavily involved in Playhouse Disney, the 27 Disney Channels around the world, and Disney XD.

Joseph Semprevivo

Joseph has been an innovator since childhood. Diagnosed with diabetes at age nine, at age 12 he developed the first sugar-free ice cream in the world. Then Joseph’s Lite Cookies was born in 1986 in Deming, New Mexico, an enterprise that is now at 125,000 retailers in 35 countries with a plant of 52,000 square feet where Joseph provides lifetime employment to team members.
