At New Mexico State University, we hold the view that no student should be denied a college education due to lack of financial resources. Our goal is to provide understandable information, timely service, and assistance to help our students succeed in their academics. Financial aid is offered in a variety of forms. This includes federal and state assistance, scholarships, fellowships, assistantships and other part-time employment.
Federal and/or state assistance must be obtained through the University's Financial Aid Office . The financial aid office handles such things as federal and state student loans and grants, University-wide scholarships and workstudy positions. Once awarded workstudy funding, you can apply for positions through www.nmsu.edu/~finaid/postings/ . Workstudy positions are limited to 20 hours per week during the regular semesters.
Student Employment Services (SES) is a department of the Division of Student Services . “At SES, our objectives are to assist students in obtaining career related jobs that will help defray the cost of a college education; provide equal opportunity for all students seeking employment; assist employers in finding qualified employees; and serve as a resource for students and employers in any and all matters related to student employment.” SES offers access to employers on and off campus during the semester as well as internships, summer employment and professional employment for graduates.
Graduate assistantships, specialized scholarships and fellowships are offered through the individual graduate programs. Please refer to the graduate program of your choosing for specific information and application procedures.
