Arrowhead Center for Entrepreneurship & Business Development

Arrowhead Center for Entrepreneurship and Business Development: $5 million

Our Arrowhead Center at NMSU builds upon the former Entrepreneurship Center which was established in 1998.

Headed by Kevin Boberg, holder of the Garrey E. and Katherine T. Carruthers Endowed Chair in Economic Development, Arrowhead Center is the economic and business development leader for New Mexico State University, helping to create an environment for small businesses to grow and thrive.

More than 160 students take part in more than 100 real-world projects a year as NMSU students and faculty work to promote business and economic development.

The Arrowhead Research Park, under development between Interstates 10 and 25, will help create even more learning and earning opportunities forĀ  our students, faculty and industry colleagues.

The Arrowhead Center has five strategic goals to sustain educational enhancement and economic development:

  • Identify and nurture business opportunities.
  • Enhance educational experience through demonstrated learning opportunities for students.
  • Enhance the ability to recruit and retain students and faculty.
  • Serve as a vehicle for the commercialization of intellectual property.
  • Develop entrepreneurship skills and leadership skills in students through specialized curriculum offerings and directed learning experiences.

An Arrowhead Center Endowment will be used to provide opportunities for every student at NMSU to take courses in entrepreneurship regardless of their college or major and would also allow for directed learning experiences in establishing or operating a business enterprise.
