Outstanding Centennial Alumni

In honor of the New Mexico State University’s Centennial anniversary celebration in 1988, each college selected 100 outstanding alumni for recognition.

The College of Business honored its 100 Centennial Outstanding alumni at recognition and awards ceremonies on Oct 28-29, 1988, as well as sponsoring other events.

On Friday, Oct. 28, a recognition ceremony was held for outstanding alumni of the years 1923-1950, followed by a luncheon at the Holiday Inn de Las Cruces. That afternoon, alumni from the classes of 1951 to the present were recognized and a tennis scramble and nine-hole golf scramble were sponsored.

That evening a Centennial gala honored the outstanding alumni, their families and friends at the Holiday Inn.

On Homecoming Saturday, a public reception was held in the Business Complex Plaza, along with the unveiling of The Traders statue by artist and NMSU alumnus Duke Sundt.
