NMSU researchers combine algae, cotton to grow shrimp in New Mexico

Everybody knows that shrimp grow in the ocean. But then again, maybe they can grow in the desert, too. Researchers at New Mexico State University are trying to figure out if a mix of algae and cottonseed meal can make it economically viable for farmers to grow shrimp in the Desert Southwest.
