Bachelor of Business Administration - Economics
The Bachelor of Business Administration is especially appropriate for students who intend to take jobs in business or government, perhaps without additional formal education beyond the bachelor's degree. It is also excellent preparation for the degree of Master of Business Administration. This degree is offered by the College of Business.
Bachelor of Business Administration - International Business
The International Business major exists within the degree program of the Bachelor of Business Administration at NMSU. Students acquire the skills and knowledge of the general business degree plus the extra familiarity with international business operations.
A student who plans to major in International Business typically registers in the College of Business Administration and Economics as a freshman. During the freshman and sophomore years, students complete required courses for a business degree, but with an emphasis on international and foreign aspects in areas where a choice is permitted.
Upon completion of the sophomore year, the student declares the International Business major. The courses include international finance, international marketing, international economics, comparative international management, and the business terminology of a foreign language. In addition, some regional courses are available on areas such as Mexico, Latin America, the Mexican-American border, and the countries of the Pacific Basin.
Bachelor of Arts - Economics
The Bachelor of Arts in Economics, offered by the College of Business, is suitable for students who plan to go on to graduate school in economics, law business, or other areas. It has the advantages of including a large number of general electives, and thus provides considerable flexibility for individuals in the choice of courses.
Bachelor of Arts - Economics (College of Arts and Sciences)
The Bachelor of Arts enables a student who is in the College of Arts and Sciences and who has met the education requirements of that college to major in economics without changing colleges. It is a popular degree for students who are majoring in both economics and a second subject in the College of Arts and Sciences.
