About the IHRM Conference

The International Human Resource Management Conference has convened approximately every two years for the past two decades. The conference brings together one or two hundred academics, researchers, authors, and HR professionals from around the globe.

Early venues were Hong Kong and Singapore, followed later by Ashridge (UK), the Gold Coast (Australia), San Diego (USA), Paderborn (Germany), Limerick (Eire), Cairns (Australia), and Tallin (Estonia). In 2009 the conference is to be held in Santa Fe, New Mexico (USA). In 2010, it is planned for Birmingham (UK). The venue for the 2012 conference is still being finalized.

Since 1992 the volunteer Secretariat has coordinated the conference and supported institutions that have been successful in bidding for approval to convene each conference. The Global Coordinator is Prof Ben Shaw (Bond University, Gold Coast, Australia) and the Global Secretary is Assoc Prof Paul Davidson (QUT, Brisbane, Australia).

This is a relaxed yet focused conference that has worked successfully over many years to provide the opportunity for people to gather around dynamic themes in IHRM in different regions of the world, with a view to enhancing mutual understanding, personal development, and knowledge in IHRM.
