Call for Papers
Submissions for IHRM 2009 can be done in any of several formats. We will
review posters, abstracts, full papers, and symposia. If other creative approaches are of
interest, contact the Program Chair (Wes Scroggins: wesscroggins@missouristate.edu) or
the Conference Chair (Phil Benson: pbenson@nmsu.edu) directly.
Submissions will be accepted via email at:
ihrmsubmit@business.nmsu.edu

Key Dates
March 31, 2009: Deadline for submissions (Full paper recommended, 500 word abstracts accepted)
May 1, 2009: Deadline for edits to accepted submissions for Conference Proceedings
Full Papers
Full papers are preferred as submissions. These allow for a more meaningful
assessment by reviewers. This also may save attendees from the last-minute hurry to
complete the full paper by the deadline for the Conference Proceedings (May 1, 2009).
No formal length limit is set on papers, but it is assumed that most will be of
typical journal length. If your paper is longer than 30 manuscript pages, it may be better
to focus it a bit (conference presentations of longer papers can be very difficult to cover
in the allotted presentation time). Full papers are best submitted according to the format
guidelines given elsewhere in this website; papers will be reviewed in other formats, but
will need to meet the proper editorial requirements for inclusion in the Proceedings, so
it’s best to prepare them in that format initially.
Abstracts
Abstracts can be submitted for review with the understanding that a full paper will
be produced for the actual conference. Abstracts are inherently difficult to review unless
a reasonable level of detail is included; for this reason, all abstracts must be a minimum
of 500 words of text (excluding title page, references, and any figures.)
Full papers of accepted abstracts are due on May 1, 2009, and should be sent to
the Program Chair as a Word document. Details on preparation of final papers can be
found at another section of this homepage.
Symposia
Symposia can be proposed for IHRM 2009. These will not be blind reviewed. In
the case of a symposium, the people who will make the presentation are of major
consideration in its evaluation. For symposium proposals, list the general topic and focus
of the presentation/discussion, and list all participants and their academic affiliations.
