Distinguished Alumna: Linda Doubrava (’83)
Linda received her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from New Mexico State University where she graduated with honors in 1983.
Currently Ms. Doubrava is the KPMG LLP federal tax partner in charge of the Rio Grande Business Unit tax practices, which includes El Paso and Albuquerque. She joined the firm in 1984, and was admitted into the partnership in 2002.
She is a member of the Texas Society of CPAs and the American Institute of CPAs. She is active in the community and currently serves on the board of directors of the Children’s’ Grief Center, the El Paso Rehabilitation Center for Children, the El Paso Del Norte Group, the Advanced Retraining and Redevelopment in Border Areas Organization (ARRIBA) and Junior Achievement. Recently she decided to join other El Paso professionals to assist in revitalizing VIVA El Paso. Linda is active in fundraising for the Ronald McDonald House, AVANCE, participates as a Chair Captain for the Annual YWCA Luncheon, and is an annual team member of the United Way Allocations Committee.
Last year, Linda was asked to be one of six judges for the University Case Study Competition during the 2003 National Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting (“ALPFA”) Conference. She was so inspired by the commitment of the students and the enthusiasm of the business professionals involved with ALPFA that she was instrumental in starting the first Rio Grande ALPFA Business Chapter which includes Las Cruces and El Paso.
