COB Information Systems students win awards

A talented group of NMSU Information Systems students came away with two awards at the 2011 Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP) Region 3 Student Conference at Sam Houston State University.

Over 175 students from universities with AITP chapters attended the conference.

Kaelynn Purdy and Evelyn Lujan placed second in the database design contest, and Lorenzo Stanton placed second in the mobile apps competition.

Evelyn serves as NMSU’s IS tutor under the Kevin Johnson (Juniper Networks) tutorial program.

Dr. Carlo Mora-Monge is NMSU’s AITP chapter advisor.
