The College of Business celebrated the dedication of Business Complex room 108 in honor of beloved Professor James Bullock on Friday, November 7th, 2014. The classroom dedication was made possible by a generous donation from Perry and Alane Elders.

Perry Elders graduated from NMSU in 1983 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.

He was a first-generation college student from Houston who originally came to NMSU to play basketball. Perry spent the first 20 years of his career as a public accountant and audit partner at Arthur Andersen, as well as PricewaterhouseCoopers and later served as Chief Financial Officer of a multinational corporation.

Elders attributed much of his success in the Accounting field at NMSU to having a great mentor like Jim Bullock, Elders’ faculty advisor during his time at NMSU.

Having a positive impact on students’ academic careers can lead to long-lasting friendships such as the one between Elders and Bullock which has lasted decades.

The plaque reads:

Dedicated to Professor James H. Bullock, August 1972-August 1996, for his dedication to teaching and mentoring students. Always grateful, Perry ’83 and Alane Elders
