Cream the Dean is an annual fundraising event orchestrated by the Epsilon Upsilon chapter of Delta Sigma Pi. It is an opportunity for students, faculty, and alumni to “Cream” the Deans of the various colleges at NMSU by throwing a pie at them. Pies are purchased for a set amount.

This year’s Cream the Dean event will be held on April 8th, 2009 at 12PM (Noontime) in Trader’s Plaza, which is the area between Guthrie Hall and the Business Complex on the Las Cruces campus of New Mexico State University.

Dean Carruthers, former Governor of New Mexico and Dean of the College of Business, as well as Dr. Michael Morehead, Interim Dean of the College of Education, Steven Castillo, Dean of the College of Engineering, and Javier Perea, Chapter President of Epsilon Upsilon, are confirmed to participate.

This year’s Cream the Dean will raise money to be donated to the Community Foundation of Southern New Mexico (CFSNM), specifically the Economic Crisis Initiative. The Economic Crisis Initiative is a fund that was setup to be distributed to any Non-Profit organization registered with the Community Foundation. With the current economic conditions, many Non-Profit associations are not receiving the funding that they need for continued, successful operations. This fund is designed to assist those organizations through these times.
