The Information Systems program has a focus on Business Analytics that prepares you for a variety of administrative and technical positions associated with the information systems. Potential employers include information system service organizations, public accounting/consulting firms, manufacturing, and merchandising businesses, banks and other financial institutions, government, and others that rely on information systems to support their business

Our business and accounting degree programs are accredited by AACSB International.

Our Mission: The Information Systems department at New Mexico State University provides and creates an evolving, reliable, innovative, integrated and service-oriented information technology environment that empowers, enhances and engages the academic, support and research activities of the University by delivering effective IT products and services that help students, faculty, and staff to achieve New Mexico State University University goals.

The program is a hands-on, small-class experience. You can “declare” a minor while pursuing your degree (your major). A minor can add versatility to your knowledge, skills and abilities. Some students prepare for their intended career with their major while pursuing personal interests with a minor. Other students pursue their major and declare a minor to specialize in a subject and make themselves more attractive to employers.

Students specializing in information systems must take additional coursework beyond that required to complete the MBA degree program. All of the requirements (including specific courses, electives, etc.) for this concentration are included in the Degree Plan.
