Prerequisite or Corequisite

  • What is it?
Enrollment in this course requires prior completion of another course. If you are unsure of a course’s prerequisites, you may consult the course descriptions in the university catalog. (A co-requisite error indicates that two classes must be enrolled and completed simultaneously.)
  • What can I do about it?
If a given class has prerequisites, a student is expected to have completed the prerequisites before becoming eligible to enroll in the class. If you can demonstrate that you have, in fact, completed the published prerequisites of a class, but are unable to register, contact the Advising Center for assistance.
Please note that even if a course has no published prerequisites, enrollment in any course numbered 300 or above requires the completion of basic academic skills classes in English and mathematics.
