FLiP Trip-Study in Ireland: July 5-August 1, 2015, at Maynooth University in Dublin, Ireland

A month abroad in one of the most beautiful places in Europe while earning 6 credits as well as having one of your Viewing the Wider World requirements waived.

When: Summer (II), 4-week program schedule from July 5~August 1, 2015.

Where: Maynooth University, Dublin, Ireland

What: 6 credits (3 credits of NMSU and 3 credits of Maynooth U.)

Join Dr. Winnie Lee (Economics, Applied Statistics, and International Business Department) and staff from the Office of Education Abroad to learn more about NMSU’s partnership with Maynooth University, home to the most comprehensive International Summer School in Ireland.

Participating students in the summer program will have the opportunity to take International Business 351 with Dr. Winnie Lee plus an additional 3 credits in Anthropology, Economics, English, Geography, History, Irish History and Culture, Religion, and Computer Science instructed by Maynooth University faculty.

The program includes practical field trips and tutorial workshops as well as a packed nonacademic schedule consisting of: On-campus Clubs and Society events with MU students, weekend and day trips to world famous attractions, cultural and historical areas of interest across Ireland, introductory classes and workshops in Irish music, dance, sports and culture.

Study IB 351 (International Business) course taught by NMSU Business College faculty. Plus, study a 3-credit Maynooth U. course (transferable to NMSU) in Irleand.

For IB (International Business major) students

  • Earn 3 credits (required) toward your IB degree AND fulfill part of your study-abroad requirement.
  • The 3-credit Maynooth U. course can be transferred back for your degree.

For Non-IB students or Non-College of Business students

  • Earn 3 credits as your Business Elective or General Elective course, AND enrich your international experience.
  • The 3-credit Maynooth U. course can be transferred back for your degree.

For All NMSU students

  • This international experience could be counted toward a VWW course. (i.e., A VWW 3-credit course could be replaced by the 4-week (or more) international/study-abroad experience.)

Cost: US$ 5,685.00*
*Total Estimated Cost includes:

  • Summer (II) Tuition & Fee (6 credits) + Program Fee + Air Fare + Housing + Meals + Local Excursions and Transits.
  • Estimated round-trip air fare (El Paso, TX-Dublin, Ireland): US$1,500.00.
