Gifts to scholarship gifts matched dollar-for-dollar on Giving Tuesday

November 3, 2015 by Staff, NMSU Hotline

Giving Tuesday is a university-wide initiative focused on philanthropy that has an impact on the lives of students at New Mexico State University. On Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2015, charities, families, businesses, community centers and students around the world will come together for one common purpose: to celebrate generosity and to give.

GivingTuesday

Giving Tuesday presents a unique opportunity to double the impact of scholarship giving at NMSU. Every gift made to a scholarship fund on Dec. 1 will be matched dollar-for-dollar.

To get NMSU faculty and staff in the spirit of Giving Tuesday, many campus leaders have pledged to match the contributions made by their employees. NMSU Chancellor Garrey Carruthers will match $5 for every new payroll deduction gift made to any fund set up on Giving Tuesday! Many other leaders, including Vice President for Economic Development Kevin Boberg, NMSU Carlsbad President John Gratton and College of Business professors Bill Gould and Robert Steiner are on board with matching pledges. Is your boss one of them? Visit http://advancing.nmsu.edu/giving-tuesday-challenges to find out.

Are you a campus leader who wants to challenge your staff to get involved? Contact Andrea Tawney for more information at 575-646-1613 or atawney@nmsu.edu.
