New Mexico State University’s Career Services and the NMSU College of Engineering will provide students with career opportunities at the 27th Annual Career Expo from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 20-21 in the Corbett Center Student Union.
The Career Expo is intended for all levels of students looking for job opportunities, from internships and co-ops to professional employment. The event also will be open to the public as well as students from other schools in the region.
Tuesday, Sept. 20, is reserved for those majoring in business, agriculture, liberal arts and allied health; Wednesday, Sept. 21, is for engineering, science and technology majors.
“The quality of our students, as well as their flexibility and mobility, makes them good candidates for employers,” said Roseanne Bensley, associate director of Career Services.
Participating NMSU students are encouraged to establish an AggieCAREER Manager account on the Career Services website, http://careerservices.nmsu.edu. The AggieCAREER Manager tool provides additional resources to research employers, develop resumes and review in advance campus interview schedules that will take place during the Career Expo. Employers interested in registering to promote their organization and recruit candidates may register at the same website but select the employer button under AggieCAREER Manager.
Bensley said participants in the expo should research potential employers in advance as much as possible, dress professionally and bring several copies of their resume.
