NMSU graduates honored with diversity stoles

New Mexico State University’s Hispanic Faculty Staff Caucus and Chicano Programs are presenting honorary diversity stoles to 27 graduates at 4 p.m. Friday, May 7, in Corbett Center’s Colfax Room.

“The Hispanic Faculty Staff Caucus and Chicano Programs are elated with this record group of graduate student leaders,” said Christina Chavez Kelley, HFSC vice chair. “These students are our future leaders and will move our country forward in social activism.”

Students are representing NMSU’s College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences, College of Arts and Sciences, College of Business, College of Education, College of Engineering and College of Health and Social Services.

Students are representing the Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting (ALPFA), Alpha Phi Sigma, Chi Epsilon, Kappa Delta Chi, Omega Delta Phi, Comanches de la Serna, Engaging Latino Communities for Education (ENLACE), EXITO, Hispanic Student Council, Latinos for EXITO, Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan (MECHA), Sexual and Gender Diversity Resource Center and the Stonewall Coalition.
