NMSU unmanned aircraft conference holds its first flight exhibition

WHAT: UAS TAAC Conference Flight Exhibition
WHEN: 8 a.m. Dec. 7 (weather permitting)
WHERE: Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa, 1300 Tuyuna Trail, Santa Ana Pueblo

The 13th annual UAS TAAC (Unmanned Aircraft Systems Technical Analysis and Applications Center) Conference will showcase a flight exhibition of unmanned aircraft at 8 a.m. Dec. 7 at the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa, 1300 Tuyuna Trail, Santa Ana Pueblo, N.M. The conference is organized and hosted by New Mexico State University’s Physical Science Laboratory.

This will be the first such event ever held in the National Airspace System and only media are invited to attend. In order to access the flight exhibition, all media personnel must register for the event. The deadline to register is noon Dec. 2.

Media instructions:

  • Depending upon the weather, there is a possibility that the date and time of the flight exhibition will be changed. The media will be alerted immediately to any changes.
  • Live truck transmissions will be authorized before and after the actual flights due to potential radio frequency interference. An on-site conference representative will be coordinating any transmissions.
  • Media parking at the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa has been arranged for easy access to the pressroom and the flight exhibition location. A designated area has been established at the flight exhibition location to provide the media with the best and safest viewing location. A parking map will be made available to media following registration.
  • Experts will be available for interviews.

The flight exhibition is being conducted in cooperation with the Federal Aviation Administration and NMSU/PSL, with the support of the Department of Defense and unmanned aircraft systems manufacturers.

The UAS TAAC Conference focuses on military, government and commercial applications of unmanned aircraft systems.
