NMSUnews: Native American law professor discusses the ‘Savage’ origin

A leading expert in Native American law recently visited New Mexico State University to talk about the human rights of indigenous peoples in a full day of events sponsored by the College of Arts and Sciences. Robert A. Williams Jr., a member of the Lumbee Indian Tribe and a professor of law at the University of Arizona, also gave an evening lecture about his book, “Savage Anxieties: The Invention of Western Civilization.”
