New Mexico State University students can share photos of their summer experiences on Instagram this week and become eligible to win bookstore gift certificates.

NMSU’s Office of Education Abroad is hosting the contest, which began Friday, through the end of the month. The top five participants with the most likes will be eligible to win a $50 or $25 gift certificate to the Barnes & Noble NMSU bookstore.

“The Office of Education Abroad is delighted to be participating in the #NMSUSummerDiscovery hashtag campaign,” said Kristian Chervenock, director of NMSU’s Office of Education Abroad. “Annually, more than 400 NMSU students participate in study, internship, research and community services programs abroad. The Instagram campaign is a natural way for our study abroad alumni, as well as those that are currently abroad, to share their experiences abroad with friends, family back home.”

In order to be eligible, participants must be NMSU students and must tag their images with #DiscoverNMSUStudyAbroad, #NMSUSummerDiscovery, #NMSU, and @stdyabroad_nmsu. In addition, they must follow the @stdyabroad_nmsu Instagram. Images must be personal photographs, not photos found online. Images must also pertain to travel, where participants would like to travel, summer activities or campus discoveries. Participants are allowed to post as many photos as they’d like. Prizes will be given to individual participants.

In the event of a tie, the Office of Education Abroad will choose the winner.
