WHAT: Dinner reception and Bill Daniels Teaching Business Ethics Workshop. This workshop is designed for those interested in teaching business ethics or integrating business ethics materials into their current courses and curriculum.
GOALS: Collaborate, share useful tips and our experiences in teaching ethics, and get better acquainted with others throughout the state interested in business or organizational ethics.
WHEN: January 6-7, 2011.
WHERE: Hotel Encanto; Las Cruces, NM.
WHY: In our Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative grant, we specified that we wanted to reach out to other university and community college faculty who are interested in teaching business ethics or integrating ethics materials into their current courses and curriculum.
Brent Hathaway, Dean of the University of Wyoming’s College of Business, will discuss how American cowboys had a set of ethical behaviors that can benefit modern society and present a screening of The Code of the West: Alive & Well in Wyoming video trailer from Havey Productions.
January 7. Program: Teaching Business Ethics
Keynote speaker: Sherron Watkins, the whistleblower at Enron, will present her experiences in The Importance of Ethical Corporate Leadership. Faculty will share best practices as well as teaching resources, tools, and techniques for incorporating ethics instruction into courses throughout the curriculum. We are also fortunate to have Linda Childears, President and CEO of the Daniels Fund, in attendance.
