COB Editor’s Note:
A student team at Arrowhead Park Early College High School (APECHS) was chosen as one of five grand prize winners in Samsung’s national Solve for Tomorrow competition. The team’s project, a rooftop rainwater collection system, was developed in response to Samsung’s call to develop a solution to a local challenge with a STEM approach. The team will receive $100,000 in technology and software prizes and will travel to Washington D.C. for an award ceremony and a visit with New Mexico Congressional representatives. A Las Cruces Sun-News story on this award is available at http://www.lcsun-news.com/las_cruces-news/ci_23035492/arrowhead-park-students-rainwater-collection-system-wins-national.
