Recently, a journal edited by faculty at New Mexico State University banned the use of p-values in articles in the journal. During the first seminar that will be held at 5 p.m. Sept. 29, in Domenici Hall Room 106, Wasserstein will share his insights regarding the “p-value debate.” A social will follow.

Wasserstein will present on “What probability and Forrest Gump teach us about the New Mexico lottery” at 9:30 a.m. Sept. 30, in Guthrie Hall Room 101. During this seminar, Wasserstein will give attendees the opportunity to participate in a simulated lottery and will answer “What are your chances of winning the big jackpot?”
