New Mexico State University’s Career Services and the NMSU College of Engineering will provide students with career opportunities at the 2008 Career Expo from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, and Wednesday, Sept. 17, in the Corbett Center Student Union.

The Career Expo is intended for all levels of students looking for job opportunities, from internships and co-ops to professional employment. The event also will be open to the public as well as students from other schools in the region.

Roseanne Bensley, the associate director of Career Services, said students are encouraged to establish an AggieTRAK account on the Career Services Web site, http://careerservices.nmsu.edu. AggieTRAK-registered students will be able to research employers, send in resumes in advance and access the campus interview schedules during the Career Expo.

Students who do not have an AggieTRAK account must attend a one-time only orientation to learn more about the system and the services offered by Career Services. The orientations will be held from 4 to 4:30 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and from 10 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the fall semester in Garcia Annex Room 224.

Bensley said participants in the expo should research potential employers as much as possible in advance, dress professionally and bring several copies of their resume for meetings at the event.

To help students prepare their resumes for the expo, Career Services will hold Resumania, where students can have their resumes critiqued and prepared for the expo. It will be held at the following times and locations:
•10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Sept. 8-12, Engineering Clock Tower

•10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Sept. 9-10, Business Complex

•10 a.m. to noon, Sept. 11, Gerald Thomas Hall

•12:30-2 p.m., Sept. 11, first floor of Corbett Center Student Union
