New Mexico State University associate professor of management Terry Adler has been named as the new department head for management in the NMSU College of Business.
Adler will assume the position July 1.
“I look forward to assuming the management department chair because it is an opportunity to further help students achieve their goals in business and life,” Adler said. “As department chair, I will also be in a leadership position to influence our college’s plans to leverage our immense faculty expertise and resources throughout New Mexico at a time when the state is poised to grow and flourish. This is an exciting time for all of us in the business college.”
Garrey Carruthers, dean of the business college, said Adler’s experience in the management and commercialization of technology will be a valuable resource as the university advances programs in its Arrowhead Center.
“I welcome Dr. Adler to our leadership team in the College of Business. He is an excellent teacher, researcher and an experienced administrator,” Carruthers said.
In addition to NMSU, Adler has been a faculty member at the University of Texas at El Paso, Central Michigan University and the Air Force Institute of Technology. He was also a teaching and research assistant at the University of Cincinnati.
The native of Las Vegas, Nev., earned a bachelor of science degree in management from the Air Force Academy in 1981, a master of business administration from Boston College in 1986 and a doctorate in business strategy and information systems from the University of Cincinnati in 1996.
Adler will lead 15 faculty members in the management department.
