To Promote the Vitality of Hispanics in the Economics Profession

HISPANIC ECONOMIC ISSUES
The Americas Center at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta and the American Society of Hispanic Economists (ASHE) invite you to participate in the inaugural Hispanic Economic Issues conference on Friday, November 19, 2010.  The conference is intended to provide a forum for discussing innovative research and to facilitate the exchange of views among researchers and policy makers focusing on a broad set of economic issues important not only to Hispanic populations in the U.S., but also to the nation as a whole.
Topics expected to be covered include labor market outcomes, human capital and social capital policies and outcomes, immigration, and international development economic issues, among others.  Those interested in participating should submit a one-page abstract to the Program Committee at ASHE_mail@att.net by Friday March 19, 2010.   
The Program Committee will contact the authors whose papers have been selected by April 19, 2010.  If selected, final papers will be due by October 19, 2010.  Further information on the conference program will be posted on the Americas’ Center website at www.frbatlanta.org and ASHE’s website at www.asheweb.net.

  ALLIED SOCIAL SCIENCE ASSOCIATION ANNUAL MEETINGS
ASHE is organizing at least one session for the 2011 ASSA meeting, which will held in Denver,  January 7th - 9th.  If you have a paper you would like to be considered for inclusion in one of the sessions, please send your abstract to ashe_mail@att.net or mtmora@utpa.edu by Friday February 26, 2010, for full consideration.  Please note that when you submit your abstract to ASHE, it is expected that your paper will not be under consideration/review for another session at 2011 ASSA meeting.  Information about the ASSA annual meetings can be found at http://www.vanderbilt.edu/AEA/Annual_Meeting/index.htm.

 

SOUTHERN ECONOMIC ASSOCIATION ANNUAL MEETINGS
ASHE is organizing two sessions for the 2010 SEA meeting, which will held in Atlanta, November 20th - 22nd.  If you have a paper you would like to be considered for inclusion in one of the sessions, please send your abstract to ashe_mail@att.net or mtmora@utpa.edu by Friday March 19, 2010, for full consideration.  Please note that when you submit your abstract to ASHE, it is expected that your paper will not be under consideration/review for another session at 2010 SEA meeting.  Information about the SEA annual meetings can be found at http://www.southerneconomic.org/ (under SEA Conferences).

 

WESTERN ECONOMIC ASSOCIATION INTERNATIONAL ANNUAL MEETINGS
ASHE is organizing two sessions for the 2010 WEAI meeting, which will be held in Portland, Oregon, June 29th – July 3rd.  The Call for Papers has now closed.  Please check later in the Fall of 2010 for the Call for Papers for the 2011 WEAI meeting.  Information about the WEAI annual meetings can be found at http://www.weainternational.org/ (under Conferences).
