Title: Associate Professor
Dr. Rebecca Franklin was recently hired as Associate Professor of Management at NMSU. Prior to her current position, she worked as Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship at Memorial University of Newfoundland, and Visiting Assistant Professor of Management at Tulane University. Her PhD was obtained at Oklahoma State University, where she was the first PhD graduate in their School of Entrepreneurship.
Prior to obtaining her PhD, Dr. Franklin founded and established two businesses. During her time as an entrepreneur, she was honored in Oklahoma Magazine’s “Top 40 Under 40,” The Journal Record’s “Achievers Under 40,” and Urban Tulsa’s “Top Movers and Shakers.” Throughout her entrepreneurial pursuits, she served as a board or committee member of various public and private organizations, including six years spent as a Mayoral appointee to the City of Tulsa’s Economic Development Commission, founding board member of Young Professionals of Tulsa, former president of Tulsa Now, advisory board member for the Oklahoma State University Culinary School, and others.
Dr. Franklin’s research pursuits focus on the psychology side of entrepreneurship, and her favorite part of teaching is the opportunity to encourage and mentor students.
