New Mexico State University’s College of Business recently accomplished another milestone by receiving an extension of accreditation by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
“The business and accounting programs in the College of Business at NMSU have had their AACSB accreditation extended for another five-year period,” said Bryan Ashenbaum, dean of the College of Business. “AACSB accreditation is the ‘gold standard’ of business and accounting accreditation, with just under 6% of worldwide business programs holding it.”
The extension was approved and concurred with by the Continuous Improvement Review Committee and Accounting Accreditation Committee and was also ratified by the Board of Directors. The College of Business received the news in late June.
Ashenbaum shared that this is a significant accomplishment for the college, and part of his role in the review process was to host the review team and share their story.
"Because my colleagues performed at the highest level, delivering a first-class business education to our students year after year, I had a wonderful story to tell,” he said. “The credit for this belongs to the College of Business faculty, staff and leadership team, and I am proud and grateful to be their dean.”
