About the Bootcamps

logo bootcampThe Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative Collegiate Program at New Mexico State University's goal is to strengthen principle-based ethics education and to foster a high standard of ethics in young people. NMSU's College of Business strongly believes that all students should be immersed in ethics curriculum as early in their undergraduate career as possible. The Ethics Bootcamp was designed to supplement students core ethics education via activities, lectures from successful business professionals, and interactive discussions which will allow students to practice their ethical decision making skills.

NMSU's Ethics Bootcamp started in the Spring of 2022, it was the first one, after particpating The University of Denver's Bootcamp. With the help of Corey Ciocchetti, we've been able to pool off a spectacular event each semester that has kept students happy, engaged and ethical.

Learning objectives are as follows:

  • Introduce students to the real-world ethical decision making of those who consistently practice ethical frameworks and then practice using these frameworks themselves.
  • Inspire students to become ethically and socially responsible business leaders by engaging with others in discussions and activities.
  • Promote confidence and moral courage among students to analyze others behavior and intervene when appropriate and necessary.
  • Acquaint students with the many benefits of making ethical decisions in their academic, professional, and personal lives.
  • Expose students to ethical situations that may arise in their future careers and ways to solve these ethical dilemmas.

A message from the Director

"We are excited to host our 4th annual Ethics Bootcamp in the College of Business this Fall 2023 semester. This program is part of the Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative Collegiate Program. This Ethics Bootcamp allows you to spend quality time thinking about how ethics impacts your life as a student, family member, significant other, friend, peer, colleague, and overall human being. When listening to our guest speakers, you may not agree with everything you hear, and you don't have to agree. Instead, what we would like, is for you think critically about your life. Think about the person you are now and the person you aspire to be in your personal or professional life. Are you the person you want to be? This Friday, we hope you are inspired by the stories from our speakers, have fun learning about ethics, and hopefully make some new connections!"

Best Wishes,
