Episode 12

This research examines public attitudes in the United States regarding the transition toward battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and the specific energy sources used to power them. Utilizing a national survey of 1,500 residents, the study employs a discrete choice experiment to measure the marginal willingness to pay for various transportation and energy policies.

This study was authored by Dr. Jamal Mamkhezri, an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics, Applied Statistics, and International Business. The paper, entitled "Public preferences for battery electric vehicle policies considering energy mix: A US choice experiment study" was published in the Energy Economics Journal in 2025.
