The New Mexico State University Accounting Programs provide the foundation and student experience that prepares students for success. Bachelor of Accountancy

Often called “the language of business,” accounting is a vital, dynamic field. Successful accountants have a solid business and accounting knowledge base as well as substantial analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills. This major helps you prepare for the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Management Accountant (CMA) exams.

Master of Accountancy

The Master of Accountancy (MAcc) program provides a fifth year of accounting education that prepares graduates for careers in professional accounting and in other business disciplines. As a master’s student, you will not only develop advanced knowledge in the field of accounting, but you will also develop critical thinking, research, and writing skills that will set you apart from your peers.

Undergraduate Minor(s)

You can “declare” a minor while pursuing your degree (your major). A minor can add versatility to your knowledge, skills and abilities. Some students prepare for their intended career with their major while pursuing personal interests with a minor. Other students pursue their major and declare a minor to specialize in a subject and make themselves more attractive to employers.
