Director of MAcc: Dr. Taylor Joo
The Master of Accountancy (MAcc) program provides a fifth year of accounting education that prepares graduates for careers in professional accounting and in other business disciplines. As a master’s student, you will not only develop advanced knowledge in the field of accounting, but you will also develop critical thinking, research, and writing skills that will set you apart from your peers.
The MAcc program provides an advanced business education that offers a number of unique features and benefits:
- Competency-based curriculum: Through a combination of core and elective courses, students have the opportunity to gain advanced knowledge in financial statement analysis, public policy, and auditing.
- A focus on developing personal skills: The MAcc program challenges students to improve their leadership, communication, teamwork and critical thinking skills.
- CPA preparation: The MAcc program offers a three-credit-hour CPA review course that gives students high-quality exam preparation.
- Career opportunities: The MAcc program connects students with accounting professionals through both events and internships.
Prerequisites: The MAcc program is primarily designed for students who have an undergraduate degree in accounting from a U.S. AACSB accredited program. Exceptional candidates from other disciplines, however, may be considered for admission after successfully completing the required accounting prerequisites from a U.S. AACSB accredited program.
