Risk Management and Insurance is the study of how firms and individuals allocate resources to manage risk in an uncertain world. As a specialized concentration within the NMSU Finance major, the curriculum explores the theory and techniques of managing risk, including property and liability, life and health, and employee benefits. Students learn to apply analytical tools and concepts from mathematics, statistics, economics, finance, and accounting to identify exposures and inform strategic decision-making. Supported by the Insurance and Financial Services Center and industry partners, NMSU graduates are well prepared for careers in Risk Management and Insurance.
