In January 2010, the New Mexico State University College of Business was awarded $1.25 million over five years to develop a principle-based ethics program. The grant is part of the Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative Collegiate Program , an organization which aims to strengthen principle-based ethics education and to foster a high standard of ethics in young people. Following the success of its five-year pilot program, in December 2014 the College was awarded an additional $1.25 million over the next five years to continue its principle-based ethics program. In 2019, the Daniels Fund board approved funding for the current phase of the program, which now consists of eleven partners.
